What is Padel?
Padel is a game played in pairs, derived from tennis, whose court (similar to a tennis court but smaller) is bordered on all four sides by walls on which the ball can bounce while remaining in play.
The name derives from the Spanish pádel, a graphic adaptation of the English paddle, meaning 'paddle', a term originally used to refer to the special wooden rackets that were originally used to play the game.
The game is played with a racket, called a 'paddle', with a rigid plate with which a ball is hit that is indistinguishable externally from a tennis ball but with a slightly lower internal pressure to limit rebound and allow players greater control.
